We’re excited to welcome the next cohort of our Apprenticeship Programme, starting 3rd September 2026. We are recruiting for Trainee Assistant Site Managers in the Northern Home Counties division – Milton Keynes.

Your Role

The role of Trainee Assistant Site Manager reports to the Site Manager and Construction Manager and assists with the responsibility for managing all aspects of a construction development site, ensuring the provision of safe, efficient and cost-effective works at all times, while maintaining the highest quality of work and customer service is delivered within the given timescales. 

You’ll learn to:

  • Ensure all Health & Safety, Environmental and Waste Management Policies are adhered to
  • Deliver all aspects of production requirements in strict accordance with relevant technical and planning documentation provided and any subsequent instructions that may be necessary from time to time.  To conform fully to building regulations and warranty providers’ requirements (NHBC, LABC Services).
  • Ensure that practical completions are formulated with sales requirements to ensure mutual compatibility.
  • Maintain site security and good practice
  • Build in accordance with relevant standards, Codes of Practice, Building Regulations and warranty requirements in force at the time
  • Fully cooperate with the Company’s Customer Care Policy
  • Oversee all site administration, ensuring it is carried out in accordance with divisional Head Office requirements.

Your Package

  • Starting Salary: £22,000. Increases will be awarded from 6 months in line with performance milestones.
  • Car allowance - £4,250 per year

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSE Maths and English – Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Previous trade qualification desirable, but not essential
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally
  • Flexible and eager to learn
  • A full UK driving license
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. You will therefore be asked to complete an eligibility check during the recruitment process.

  3. Assessment Centre - the final stage in the process is a half-day virtual assessment centre where you will complete a presentation, team activity and competency-based interview. 

About the Apprenticeship

Qualification

  • Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor

Training

  • The apprenticeship will be delivered virtually by NHBC one day per week, alongside hands-on training at your allocated division.

Duration

  • Up to 18 months, plus End Point Assessment

Location

You will begin your apprenticeship on site at the location listed alongside your chosen division. While we aim to allocate you to the location nearest to your home, you will be expected to attend additional sites within the area as part of your role. It is important that you are able to travel as needed to fulfil these requirements.
